How do I get started?
The first step is to use our contact form located here to connect with Gillian. She will then set up a chemistry session with you. A chemistry session is a brief 30 minute conversation where the two of you will decide if you are a good match for each other. She will also discuss with you what you want to work on, your understanding and experience with coaching, your expectations, cost, and time frame. Together you will decide the best plan of action to create a successful outcome.
How long is a session?
On average sessions are 45 minutes to an hour. Because you are in creative partnership with your coach and everything is situational, you may achieve your goal for the session in less time or may need a bit more time. Gillian will connect with you through out the session to confirm you have found what you needed from you your session.
Is there any over-site or are there guidelines?

Is coaching like therapy?
Good question! There is a difference. Therapy sits in a place of evaluating thoughts, feelings, habits, personality traits, and mental well being in relation to the past as well as to a medical diagnosis. Coaching explores the present and future and may feel therapeutic. There may be emotions that emerge in the process, and Gillian will hold space for those feelings. She will not offer a medical diagnosis, and will refer you to a mental health professional if you uncover that to be a better fit.

How many sessions do I need?
You and Gillian will discuss the change you like to make and together develop a trajectory. It varies by individual goals and ability to implement new skills. For some clients, they may need just a one session tune up. For others, they maybe dealing with making a major shift, and in that case there will be multiple sessions over a longer period. On average, clients commit to 8 sessions every two weeks. This time frame seems to work best for allowing change to occur and new habits to develop.
How much does it cost?
Cost is subject to the situation of the client. If you are an individual your rate will be different than if Gillian is being contracted by an organization. Gillian's goal is to help as many people as possible, and she is willing to have a conversation about what rate is appropriate. On average her coaching rate is $100/hr.
Is what I say confidential?
Yes. Gillian abides by the International Coaching Federations confidentiality guidelines. She maintains the strictest levels of confidentiality. The three exceptions to confidentiality are: harm to self or others, illegal activity, or in cases of a tri-party agreement the boundaries of confidentiality will be discussed with all stakeholders prior to entering into a coaching relationship.
Is coaching like mentorship?
A mentor is a subject matter expert offering advice and expertise to a mentee on a specific topic. Coaching is professional and personal development that does not offer advice. You are the subject matter expert of your own life. As your coach, Gillian will ask you questions and provide a sounding board for you to uncover your own answers.
